MÉRA WORLD MUSIC FESTIVAL will take place between 2 and 5 August 2018 in the Transylvanian village of Méra, 13 kilometers from Cluj. It is the very first international world music festival organized in the Transylvanian Kalotaszeg region.
Behind Méra's carved-wood gates, barn-stages will host bands that are well known on the world's most famous stages.
Lineup: Guajiro Calentano (Mexico), Laura Lackey's Rhythm Revue (USA), deRuts (Chile), Besh o droM (Hungary), Ferenczi György and the Rackajam (Hungary), Nightlosers (Romania), Oláh Gipsy Beats (Hungary), Nadara (Romania), Grupul Iza (Romania), Fölszállott a Páva Show (Hungary/Romania) and many more!
The uniqueness of the festival and its special atmosphere will be given by the meeting of the local traditional culture with some of the biggest names of contemporary world music genre.
We are eager to introduce Kalotaszeg to the world and the world to Kalotaszeg.
The festival is also open to families - we organize special daytime activities for children, and also to the lovers of traditional folklore parties - we organize daily the famous Hungarian táncház events for dancing and singing all night long.
The central location of the festival is the estate locally known as Szarka-telek.
